Drag and Drop Limits
- Google Chrome will allow you to drag and drop a directory that contains up to 100 files. If you drag and drop a directory that contains more than 100 files into Google Chrome only the first 100 will be uploaded.
- Firefox will allow you to drag and drop any directory no matter how many files it contains. In FTP Todays testing we have found that exceeding 1000 files will result in a significant increase in processor and ram usage that may make the browser unstable or completely unresponsive.
- Microsoft Edge will allow you to drag and drop a directory that contains up to 100 files. If you drag and drop a directory that contains more than 100 files into Microsoft Edge only the first 100 will be uploaded.
- Internet Explorer does not support drag and drop.
The WebApp Upload button will allow any supported browser to add up to 1000 files to the upload queue.
If you have more than 1000 files to upload in a single transfer FTP Today suggests you use a 3rd party application to connect with a secure protocol (SFTP, FTPS) to more easily facilitate the transfer.
